Delete your account
You can close your Xaraash account and remove your data at any time — from inside the app, or by asking us. This page explains both, what gets deleted, and what we are obliged to keep.
Delete your account from the app
This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.
1. Open Xaraash and sign in.
2. Go to Profile, then Settings.
3. Tap 'Delete account' and confirm.
Your account is closed straight away and your listings disappear from the marketplace at once.
Ask us to delete it instead
If you can no longer sign in — you lost the phone number, or the app is already uninstalled — email support@xaraash.so from the email address on the account, or message us on WhatsApp at +252 61 322 9494.
Tell us the phone number the account uses. We may ask one question to confirm the account is yours, so that nobody can close someone else's account.
We action deletion requests within 30 days, and normally within a few working days.
What is deleted
Your profile: name, email address, phone number, city and profile photo.
Your listings, including their photos.
Your messages with other users, and your favourites.
Your saved searches and notification settings.
Once this is done your account cannot be recovered, and the same phone number can be used to register again from scratch.
What we keep, and why
Records of completed transactions — the sale amount, the date and the commission charged — are kept for up to 7 years. We are required to retain financial records, and we cannot delete them on request.
These records are detached from your profile where possible, and are never used to contact you or to build a profile of you after your account is gone.
Deleted data may also remain in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before those backups expire. It is not accessible to staff during that window and is not restored.
Deleting some data without closing your account
You do not have to close your account to remove things from it.
Individual listings can be deleted from My listings at any time.
Your name, city and photo can be changed from Account settings.
If you want a specific piece of data removed but want to keep your account, email support@xaraash.so and tell us what you would like gone.
